Fishing :: Fishing Report

November 2009
Strange. October and November are usually months to pull the boat out and get the repairs completed before the New Year’s run. This year has been quite the contrary. SANCHO landed her record sail estimated at 190lbs – caught this past October over the “12 hump”. The offshore winds have layed down and we have even seen multiple days of warm blue water that has brought in the 20-40lb dorado and big sails. So we are hoping for the black marlin to show up anytime. Whether it be El Nino or global warming the typical bite pattern has been blown away.

This year’s tuna were more than double the size of previous years and we had many days boating double digit yellowfins. Its a good thing when 20lb double hookups become the norm. Join us as sailfish and marlin season turns on! Dorado and wahoo will no doubt fill the coolers in the upcoming months. Inshore the rooster bite also turns on – 50lb roosterfish on a live bluerunner – add that to your “caught it” list!
